Israeli soldier injured in Hezbollah drone attack on Golan Heights

The Israeli military has announced that one soldier has been moderately injured after three explosive-laden unmanned aerial vehicles crossed from Lebanon into northern Israel and landed in the Beit Hameches area of the occupied Golan Heights, Al Jazeera reports.

“An [Israeli] soldier was lightly injured as a result of the attack and was evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment,” the military said of Wednesday night’s incident.

The Israeli military said it is investigating why air raid sirens didn’t sound and its defence systems failed to intercept the drones.

Lebanese armed group Hezbollah has claimed the attack.
