CM shows displeasure over lack of cleanliness in hospital
PESHAWAR: Caretaker Chief Minister retired Justice Syed Arshad Hussain Shah paid a surprise visit on Saturday to Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex Nowshera.
Expressing his displeasure over the poor hygiene in the hospital, he set a one-week deadline to the hospital management to improve the situation to the desired level.
According to a statement, the chief minister termed sanitation and cleanliness of vital importance for any healthcare service delivery outlet.
He said that without the required hygienic environment, quality healthcare service delivery was not possible. He said that the hospital management should give special attention to ensure cleanliness in all respects.
The chief minister met with patients under treatment in the hospital and got detailed information about the healthcare facilities being provided there. The staff present on duty briefed him about the facilities being provided to patients in the hospital.
The chief minister directed management of the hospital for necessary steps to improve the overall health service delivery system.
He said that provision of quality healthcare facilities to people was one of the priority areas of government.
He said that any negligence and inefficiency in that regard would not be tolerated at any cost. He directed the authorities concerned to ensure efficient and prudent use of available resources to that end.
