SARGODHA: A female student from a private university was allegedly gang-raped at a fake beauty parlour in Istiqlalabad Colony.

According to police sources, the student visited the house of a classmate friend on Muharram 9, where she was injected with drugs and later assaulted by multiple individuals. The Factory Area police registered a case against her classmate, her (classmate) husband, and unidentified people involved in the assault.

The suspects had set up a beauty parlour in a rented house, but instead, the premises was being used as a brothel.

KILLED: Samar Nawaz, who had allegedly killed a shopkeeper during a robbery, was killed in police custody by his own accomplices on Wednesday, the police claimed.

The police said they were investigating the suspect for his involvement in several cases and while accompanying the accused to recover looted property near Chak 79-NB, his accomplices opened fire on the police to rescue him. The police responded in self-defense, and during the crossfire, the accused was seriously injured.

The assailants managed to escape and the injured suspect was rushed to Dr Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The police revealed that the deceased was wanted in various cases across different police stations.
