KARACHI: The allottees of Scheme 45, Taiser Town, have blamed Malir Development Authority (MDA) of encroaching upon their plots with the help of “land grabbers.”

Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, they appealed to the Sindh government to help them recover their plots and warned that otherwise they would be left with no other option but to stage protest demonstrations across the city for their rights.

They said the MDA had recently issued an advertisement announcing cancellation of their plots despite the fact that they had already made the payments of the installments of their properties. The allottees were expecting the MDA to carry out development work in the area but no progress has been made since 2006, they said.

They were asked to pay a huge amount of money in installments in the name of development that included availability of basic facilities like roads, water supply, drainage and power supply system but nothing had been done in this regard, they added.

They also appealed to the Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to take notice of the situation and help them recover their plots.
