Court upholds death sentence of two accused

ISLAMABAD: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Wednesday upheld the death sentence of two convicts in a blasphemy case.

The LHC division bench comprising Justice Raja Shahid Mehmood Abbasi and Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz announced the decision on the appeals of convicts Qaiser Ayub and Amoon Ayub.

In December 2018, Additional District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi Javed Iqbal Bosal convicted both the accused and handed down death sentence to them for uploading blasphemous contents on a website.

The case against the accused was registered by Talagang police in 2011 on the complaint of a cleric, Mohammad Saeed.
