Doctor arrested for ‘harassing’ woman

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cyber-crime wing on Tuesday arrested a doctor for allegedly harassing a woman staff member of the public hospital where he worked.

The woman complainant alleged that the doctor who did his MBBS from Russia and got posted at the Jinnah Hospital, had her private videos which he used to blackmail and defame her.

“During the investigation it transpired that the suspect was blackmailing her,” an FIA official quoted the FIR.

On Tuesday, the FIA arrested the suspect when he came to meet the complainant, who is a staffer at the hospital, at a restaurant in Gulberg.

The doctor has been booked under sections 20, 21 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016.

The official said two mobile phones had also been recovered from the suspect and sent for forensic analysis. The suspect was also accused of sharing objectionable videos with some staff members of the hospital, he added.
