Balochistan CM orders timely completion of uplift projects

QUETTA: A high-level meeting, which was presided over by Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Tuesday, reviewed approval of various projects, authorisation and disbursement of development projects from the relevant forums here.

The Additional Chief Secretary for Planning and Development, Hafiz Abdul Basit, informed the meeting about the progress of new and ongoing development projects included in the current financial year’s public sector development programme (PSDP).

He said 2,286 new development schemes were included in the current PSDP while 1,525 ongoing schemes were a part of the current development programme.

He briefed the meeting on 184 flagship schemes.

The participants of the meeting were informed about new plans for the current financial year, which include 155 PDWPs and 2,131 DSC development schemes.

The meeting was apprised of the approval of new development projects of different departments.

The meetings of forums concerned for approval of new development projects should be held regularly.

Chief Minister Alyani directed the officials concerned to complete the preliminary work of new projects by the end of September. He said all projects were important and they should be completed within the stipulated time.

“Special attention should be paid to the design of government buildings,” the chief minister said. He called for accelerating work on ongoing development projects.

“We will achieve the goal of socio-economic development by laying a network of roads across the province,” he said.

The meeting was attended by provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Abdul Khaliq Hazara and Noor Mohammad Dummar, the additional chief secretary for planning and development, principal secretary to the chief minister, secretaries of departments concerned and the director of public relations.
