GUJRANWALA: The rapist-cum-killer of the minor schoolgirl who had gone missing during the school time on Friday at Qila Didar Singh was arrested on Saturday.

The 11-year-old girl, a resident of Muhammadpura, went to the Govt Primary School for Girls but did not return home after school time.

Police registered a kidnap case. Later, the locals found the body of the victim in nearby fields.

City police Officer (CPO) Sarfraz Ahmad Falki established three teams under the supervision of SP City Waqar Azeem and Qila Didar Singh Station House Officer (SHO) Nadeem Khalid along with his team arrested the suspect within 24 hours.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to raping and killing the girl. He told police he had taken the girl to fields on a motorcycle and raped her there. He strangled her after the rape.
