The number of fatalities from the coronavirus crossed the 20,000 mark after Pakistan reported 102 deaths during the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths has risen to 20,089.

During the last 24 hours, 51,528 tests were conducted of which 3,070 came back positive. The total number of cases in the country has risen to 893,461 while the positivity ratio is 5.95 per cent.

Punjab reported the highest number of deaths during this period with 64, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 20 fatalities.

Breakdown of deaths and cases:

  • Sindh: 1,248 cases, 15 deaths
  • Punjab: 898 cases, 64 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 528 cases, 20 deaths
  • Islamabad: 221 cases, 1 death
  • Balochistan: 95 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 78 cases, 2 deaths
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 2 cases
