TOBA TEK SINGH: A man was arrested on charge of poisoning his young wife to death at Chak 188-GB, Rajana, on Sunday.

Rajana police said Dilbahar Baloch informed police that he had recently married Nighat Perveen (18). They had a fight over some domestic issue and Nighat committed suicide by consuming poison. Police sent Nighat’s body to the Rajana Rural Health Centre for autopsy and arrested Dilbar to probe into the matter.

In another incident, a man was shot dead by unidentified killers who dumped his body near Sem Nullah in Chak 343-JB on Gojra-Jhang road.

The victim was identified as Allah Ditta Kodhan of Chak 160-JB, Jhang. Nawan Lahore police shifted the body to a rural health centre for autopsy.

BOOKED: An Ehsaas Kafalat Programme Gojra area agent was booked on Sunday for committing fraud with a woman beneficiary.

The first information report (FIR) registered by police on the complaint of an assistant director of the aid programme said Naveed Anjum had deducted Rs6,000 out of total Rs12,000 from the financial aid of Ruqayya Bibi of Chak 340-JB. When the woman asked Naveed to pay her full amount, he claimed that the government had reduced her aid from Rs12,000 to Rs6,000.
