LAHORE: An LDA team retrieved 34-kanal land from Mansha Khokhar alias Mansha Bamm in an operation carried out on Tuesday night.
The team led by the LDA town planning officials and police reached PIA Road near Johar Town’s D/2 block and launched a major operation to demolish the illegal structure at the state land allegedly occupied by the men of Mansha Bamm. The team demolished all structures and evicted those occupying the land.
The LDA team also had a case registered against Bamm, his sons and 25 other people for unlawfully occupying the state land measuring 34 kanal.
The LDA and city administration teams jointly conducted a major operation against Mansha Bamm in October 2018, retrieving state land worth millions on PIA Road. The LDA later planted saplings at the land retrieved from Bamm as part of the ‘Clean & Green Pakistan Campaign’.
The authority had also established its camp office over there. Besides the LDA, the Water and Sanitation Agency and the Lahore Waste Management Company staffers had also been deployed at the office for receiving and redressing public complaints regarding cleanliness and sanitation. The land grabbers, however, rebuilt structures on a chunk of the land, forcing the LDA to launch the operation again.
