Jamaat chief criticises PTI, PDM

DERA MURAD JAMALI: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq has termed the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and the parties in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) two sides of the same coin, saying they both have failed to solve problems of the people.

Speaking at a public meeting in Dera Allah Yar town of Jaffarabad district on Sunday, he said both the PTI and the parties in the PDM had promoted the culture of corruption in the country.

He said PTI chief Imran Khan had promised to provide 10 million jobs and five million houses to the people during his election campaign, but after coming to power his policies had made millions of people jobless.

JI provincial emir Abdul Haq Hashmi, general secretary Hidayatur Rehman Baloch, deputy general secretary Abdul Majeed Badini, Mohammad Amin Bugti, Mohammad Yousaf Mangrio and others also spoke at the public meeting. “There was no double standard in the state of Medina, but in our country there are separate laws for the poor and the rich. Electricity thieves are imprisoned, but violators of the constitution are sent abroad with a VIP protocol,” Mr Haq said.

He alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan had sold Kashmir to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and did nothing for the people of the occupied valley who were struggling for their right of self-determination.

He criticised the economic policies of the government, saying that before coming to power Imran Khan used to claim that he had a team of 200 economists who would turn around the economy and make the country prosperous, but during past two and half years nothing was done and the country had been handed over to International Monetary Fund.
