LAHORE: Police claimed on Sunday to have retrieved 32 kanal state land from the alleged land grabbers in an operation in Township.
The operation was conducted on the directions of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar.
A police team, led by Saddar Division SP operation Hafeezur Rehman Bugti, carried out the activity in the Industrial Area, Township and got 32 kanal state land worth billions vacated.
The land grabbers had established gypsy cottages, temporary establishments and encroachments on the state land for a long period.
In another operation, police retrieved three kanals and 10 marla state land at Shano Baba Chowk near the University of Lahore. Police also retrieved 20 feet of road adjacent to the university from the land grabbers during the operation.
Mr Dogar said a special Anti-Qabza Mafia Cell had been established and anyone could approach it or register a complaint on helpline 1242.
