OWING to the lockdown imposed as a precautionary measure for controlling the further spread of coronavirus, all schools have remained closed in the last six months. However, private schools demand parents to pay the school fees with only 20 per cent reduction.

During the lockdown, not only schools but other professions were also affected, and many people were unemployed during this period. How can the parents pay the fee in such circumstances?

Sadly, some schools have been demanding the entire six-month fee in lump sum, adding to the worries of students in getting registered for higher classes.

The government needs to stop private schools from asking the fee for six months amidst the coronavirus pandemic. There should be a better and fair solution to this problem.
