RAWALPINDI: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday visited a shelter home in Raja Bazaar to inspect facilities provided to its residents.

He was informed that more than 64,000 persons have benefitted from the facility while an average of 50 persons stay in it everyday, who are also given breakfast and dinner.

While giving directions toimprove arrangements, Mr Buzdar announced the establishment of another shelter home in Rawalpindi and asked the administrationto take further steps without delay.

One of the shelter home’s residents said that it felt like home because of its environment.

Earlier, we have had to spend nights on footpaths but best the facilities are provided here, another resident told Mr Buzdar. An elderly personfrom Peshawar said that he enjoyed the hospitality and thanked Mr Buzdar for the care he had been receiving.

The CM inquired about the quality of food and directed the administration to take care of the health and convenience of residents.

“They should not face any difficulty as taking care of abandoned persons is the responsibility of the government and it will notdeviate from this responsibility. I will visit different shelter homes to personally monitor the arrangements,” he said.

Information minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan and other parliamentarians were also present.

Mr Buzdar also met with Tiger Force volunteers and discussed different matters including the city‘s situation.

They are the prime minister’s volunteers for public service and they are taking an active part in serving masses, he added.
