LAHORE: The Lahore General Hospital’s surgery department on Wednesday organised a training workshop on the importance of laparoscopic procedure to help improve skills of the surgeons and basic knowledge of other medics.
Postgraduate Medical Institute/LGH Principal Prof Dr Al-fareed Zafar, along with senior surgeons and doctors from a number of hospitals participated in the workshop.
The senior medics highlighted different aspects and practical training of laparoscopic treatment.
Addressing the participants, Prof Fareed said the introduction of laparoscopic treatment in the public hospitals after private institutions cost the patients less.
“The laparoscopy is an advanced procedure that helps patients get faster and modern treatment in the shortest possible time,” he said.
The mode of treatment not only reduced the patient’s suffering, but the doctors could also treat more patients using the technology.
The principal said such workshops had a great significance for surgeons and doctors to enhance their professional skills.
Associate Prof Dr Amana Javed, Dr Saeed, Dr Toseef and other speakers highlighted the principles of dealing with the various aspects and complexities of laparoscopy.
The workshop also included question and answer and hands-on training sessions. At the end of the workshop certificates were also awarded to the participants.
