JHANG: Police have arrested a youth for allegedly raping minor daughter of a brick kiln worker and then throwing her into an eighty-foot deep well at Khokra village, 10 kilometers from here on Monday evening. The girl was critically injured.

According to the first information report (FIR), registered on Tuesday by Satellite Town police, 12-year-old daughter of a brick kiln worker was working in a sugarcane field at Khokra village, when the suspect, a resident of the same village, allegedly raped her.

To conceal his crime, the suspect later threw her in an 80-foot deep well. Alerted by her screams, some other workers rushed to the scene and called police. On receiving the complaint, city Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Saidullah Bhatti rushed to the spot leading a police party.

The police personnel pulled the critically injured girl out of the well with the help of locals and shifted her to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ). As per doctors the girl suffered serious injuries to her back and legs and was critical. Meanwhile, police arrested the suspect and registered a case against him.
