LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) condemned denial of visa to LHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim by the US Embassy.

The chief justice had an invitation to attend a judicial conference in the US.

In a joint statement issued on Friday, LHCBA president Hafeezur Rehman Chaudhry and other office-bearers said denial of visa to the chief justice of the largest province’s high court in the country was incomprehensible.

“We condemned the act of US Embassy in strong words,” said the statement, which demanded the embassy to issue visa to the LHC CJ immediately so that he could proceed to the US to attend the conference.
