GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested three patwaris on Wednesday for tempering with revenue record.
ACE spokesman Ejaz Hussain Chatha told Dawn that Ghulam Qadir, a resident of Chakora, Gujrat, submitted an application that Patwari Saeed Ahmad had tempered with the record of graveyard land in Chakor village and gave it to some people.
On the application of residents of Chakora, an inquiry was conducted which found that two other patwaris, Javed Iqbal and Nasir Iqbal, had assisted Saeed in land record tempering.
A team led by ACE Deputy Director Rana Qadeer Ashraf and Rana Ilyas arrested the patwaris.
GAS THEFT: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines teams has disconnected more than 200 connections for using compressors to increase gas pressure.
SNGPL General Manager Tayyab Faisal told Dawn on complaints of low gas pressure, official teams visited various localities and severed 200 connections in Baghbanpura, Garjakh, Model Town, Peoples Colony, Dhullay, Wazirabad, Kamoki and Noshera Virkan.
