BAHAWALPUR: Three wheat traders were robbed of Rs2 million on Tuesday by two armed motorcyclists near Ahmedpur East, about 40km from here.
According to the police, traders Muhammad Tariq, Shahid and Shakil withdrew Rs2m from the branch of a private bank. They were travelling to their destination in a pickup truck when two robbers on a motorcycle intercepted them at Musa Khokhar on the outskirts of Ahmedpur East.
They forced the driver to stop the vehicle by firing at it and snatched a bag containing Rs2m from the traders and escaped.
Ahmedpur East City police registered a case.
MURDER: A man was killed allegedly by his brother-in-law at Chak 60-DB in the area of Yazman City police station.
The police said Abdul Rehman had a land dispute with his brother-in-law, Zeeshan. On Tuesday, they exchanged harsh words and Zeeshan attacked Rehman with a dagger. The victim sustained serious injuries and expired on the spot. The suspect managed to flee after the murder.
Yazman City police registered a case against Zeeshan on the complaint of deceased’s son Abdullah, and sent the body to the tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital for postmortem.
