HYDERABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah said on Thursday that most of the nine proposals of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for the military courts had been agreed upon and only one or two were now being negotiated.

Talking to reporters after offering his condolences to PPP leader Syed Naveed Qamar on the demise of his mother here, he said the PPP had offered its support to the government against the backdrop of terrorist incidents in the country.

He said the establishment of military courts was not a permanent solution to the problem of terrorism. The country needed a long-term policy to fight the extremist mindset, he said, adding that “bullets will not offer any solution”.

He criticised the government for what he called non-implementation on the National Action Plan.

He also lambasted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for ignoring parliament.
