DERA MURAD JAMALI: A woman was killed by her cousin allegedly in the name of honour in Goth Behram Khan near Tambo tehsil, district Nasirabad, on Thursday.

Police said that the victim’s cousin, identified as Muharram Ali, also opened fire at her friend, Israr Ahmed, who died on the spot.

“The man and woman died immediately where they were shot, due to multiple bullet wounds,” the police said, adding that the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the families after medico-legal formalities were completed.

According to police, it was a case of “honour killing”. They said the accused managed to escape from the crime scene. Police added that a case had been registered and further investigation was under way.

Altaf Hussain was on his way home when unidentified men opened fire on him, leaving him severely injured.

He was shifted to the district hospital where he died.

The body was handed over to the heirs after medico-legal formalities.

The police arrested a suspect and started investigation.
