Maalik: voice of millions

WHY so much fuss on the exhibition of Maalik which has only shown a fraction of the abuses committed by the feudal lords. Incidents of kidnapping for ransom in Sindh have grown dramatically.

Blackmailers and extortionists have got a free hand. Millions of acres of forestlands have been brought under the plough illegally. Medicines which are to be given free of cost to the poor are sold off in the bazaars. Rapes are common.

People in Sind feel insecure. Thefts are at an all-time high. Education is in a mess. The funds given for education land directly in the personal accounts of officials. Even pensioners in the teaching profession are not spared.

We have the best intelligence agency in the world and the best special services forces. What is then preventing them from laying their hands on these criminals?

Not all the waters of the oceans can wash off the sins that Sindhis are committing against Sindh and Pakistan.

Maalik is only a tiny drop and too small to make any difference to the vast ocean of corruption that has submerged Sindh. It is the voice of all Sindhis demanding an end to bad governance, corruption and nepotism. The ban on Maalik should be lifted.
