Militancy literature: two held, printing press sealed

LAHORE: Two men were arrested from a printing press by intelligence agencies for printing literature of a banned militant organization on Monday.

The agencies also found more than 100,000 copies of Jihadist literature containing training material for suicide attackers.

An official source told Dawn that the raid was conducted after the arrest of a `high profile’ Al-Qaeda suspect.

He said they had been interrogating the suspect for the last 15 days and on Monday he revealed about the presence of explosive material and Jihadist literature in Urdu Bazar.

He said police and intelligence agencies in a joint operation in Urdu Bazar arrested two men involved in printing and supplying literature to Al-Qaeda. The suspects were identified as Qari Arif and Asif.

He said the law enforcement agencies also recovered detonators and explosive material. The authorities sealed the printing press and shifted both the suspects to an undisclosed location.
