SHEIKHUPURA: A man killed the husband of his former wife outside the courtroom of the civil judge here on Monday.

Nayaz Masih opened fire on Ishaq when he along with Shakeela (the former wife of Nayaz) came out of the court of Civil Judge Talat Mahmood after recording her statement in her court marriage case.

The firing created harassment among the litigants and lawyers who ran for cover.

Nayaz surrendered to police after the shooting. B-Division police arrested him.

In another incident, the mother of four children was shot dead allegedly by her brother for honour on Monday in the Moman locality in the jurisdiction of Safdarabad police. Suspect Ali Sher exchanged words with his sister, Sughran Bibi, and later shot her dead. Police have yet to arrest him.

PRESS CLUB: Lahore Commissioner Rashid Langrial along with District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rashid Kamal and Executive District Officer Rashid Irshad visited the press club on Monday.

The commissioner said he had directed the DCO to resolve club’s financial problems. Press club president Shahbaz Ahmad Khan, general-secretary Sultan Hameed Rahi and finance secretary Ali Abid were present.
