ISLAMABAD: Chairperson Defence of Human Rights Amna Janjua has alleged that 91 missing persons have been killed in the detentions centres across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday in the National Press Club, she claimed that an individual, Hammad Amir, was killed in Kohat detention centre.

She said there were 43 detention centres in the KP province, where around 2,000 people were imprisoned.

She said Hammad Amir was arrested by Islamabad Police in 2009 and his family was informed that he would be released in a few days after initial investigations. She deplored the misuse of Protection of Pakistan Act as it has given the authorities an excuse to abuse powers.
