FAISALABAD, Nov 30: Gulzar Palace, a historical building in Chiniot, historical mounds in Shorkot and some artifacts in Jhang will be handed over to the Lyallpur Museum.

Faisalabad Commissioner Sardar Akram Javed said this at a meeting of the Lyallpur Museum Board here on Saturday.

He said the museum was depicting the regional heritage and culture that would be introduced on national and international levels.

The meeting was informed that the museum had been affiliated with the National Fund for Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the National Heritage while an MoU had also been signed with the Finnish Museum Association, Finland, for technical cooperation.

The meeting approved regulations of the Lyallpur Museum and reviewed the administrative and financial matters.

Another MoU has also been signed between the Pakistan Wildlife Foundation and the Lyallpur Museum.

Museum Director Mian Atiq Ahmed said the museum had been affiliated with the GC University for launching post-graduate diploma studies in heritage management science which would provide opportunities to students of history and social sciences to learn the sustainable use of historic properties.The commissioner directed to install CCTV cameras and fire-fighting equipment for the proper security and safety of the museum.

Government College University Faisalabad Vice-Chancellor Dr Zakir Hussain, UAF VC Dr Iqrar Ahmed, Local Fund Audit Director Amir Saeed, Director Colleges Rana Munawwar Khan, officers of other departments and industrialists were also present.
