NEW DELHI, April 29: Taking the cue from the telephone chat between the prime ministers of India and Pakistan, a senior member of the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) said on Tuesday that the BCCI would ask the government to allow the resumption of cricketing ties with Pakistan.

“Board president Jagmohan Dalmiya is of the view that we should abide by the government’s directives. But we will soon be requesting the Prime Minister to consider a proposal regarding staging of bilateral series at a neutral venue,” Rajiv Shukla, a BCCI board member and Rajya Sabha MP was quoted by the Press Trust of India.

“In a bid to revive the stalled Indo-Pakistan cricket relations, the Cricket Board will soon put a request to the Centre to grant permission to the Indian team to play bilateral series against Pakistan at neutral venues,” PTI said quoting Mr Shukla. Mr Shukla said the BCCI was taking whatever steps possible to revive the cricketing ties with Pakistan.
