KARACHI, April 29: Former world champion Muhammad Yousuf’s son Azeem Yousuf made winning debut in Karachi Club Younis Majeed Bakhsh One Frame Memorial snooker tournament at Karachi Club Tuesday.

14-year-old defeated Sandeep Perwani 68-37 in his opening match.

The event was however marred which saw as many as five walkover were awarded.

In the other match, Ashfaq Yousuf Tola beat Shabbir Lakhani 48-35.

Karachi Club is conducting the event in memory of former Pakistan number two and international Younus Amir Bakhsh, who died here a couple of month ago.

A handsome amount is expected to be presented to family of late cueist who represented Pakistan in World snooker and billiards contest and Asian Snooker Championship.

Karachi Port Trust has named its snooker hall after Younus Amir Bakhsh for his contribution in the sport.—APP
