RAHIM YAR KHAN, April 28: Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that all possible resources are being utilized for the development of south Punjab.
Speaking at a public meeting at Khanpur on Monday, he said a record number of development projects were being carried out in Rahim Yar Khan district.
Pervaiz Elahi said that assemblies will complete their term. The opposition should cooperate with the government to promote democratic values in the country.
The chief minister announced the provision of Sui-gas to Khanpur. He said that loans up to Rs40,000 were being released to woman on personal guarantee to make them self-reliant. The chief minister said the government would procure every grain of wheat. He directed the officials of the food department to ensure the provision of gunny bags to farmers.
He said that development work in Cholistan would be continued. He said that Abbasia Link canal would be opened on June 1.
District Nazim Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mahmood, Naib Nazim Mian Abdul Sattar and members of national and provincial assemblies belonging to the district also spoke at the meeting.
