SAHIWAL, April 27: The Multan Electric Power Company has issued notice to the Sahiwal Tehsil Council for the payment of Rs7.6 million outstanding bill by Monday (today).

Mepco Chief Executive Brig Abbas Ali Khan has also constituted a team comprising Sahiwal Circle Superintending Engineer Shafqat Husain and Col Waqar Husain to thoroughly scrutinize the outstanding bill.

He said if the Sahiwal Tehsil Council still failed to make the payment of the settled amount after scrutiny, its power supply would be disconnected.

However, the Mepco chief insisted on the arrest of Tehsil Nazim and his 25 men involved in trespassing the Wapda Colony gate and for threatening the Sahiwal Xen.

It is learnt that the report of the incident has also been sent to the Wapda chairman who will soon meet high-ups of the government to stress the arrest of the Nazim and his men.

Meanwhile, the Punjab chief minister has also sought a report of the issue from the District Nazim.
