Equal uplift funds for TCs pledged

GUJRANWALA, April 27: The district government will provide equal funds to all tehsil councils for completing uplift projects and provision of better facilities to the people.

This was stated by district Nazim Fiaz Ahmad Chattha while speaking at a joint meeting of tehsil councils at Eminabad on Sunday.

He said that with the introduction of new system the tehsil councils and other local bodies institutions had to face problems. But now these institutions were functioning smoothly and resolving problems of the masses with the cooperation of the district council, he added.

Gujranwala Saddar Tehsil Nazim Mubasher Ahmad Cheema, Kamoki tehsil council Nazim Zakaullah Baryar, Wazirabad tehsil Nazim Chaudhry Shaukat Manzoor Cheema, Naushera Virkan tehsil Nazim Sardar Tariq Raza and Nazims and councillors of various UCs were also present on the occasion.

Saddar tehsil Nazim Mubasher Cheema pointed out that initially his council had suffered a financial loss of Rs2 million, but now we were meeting all our expenditures by revamping the taxation system and other sources.
