LAHORE, Dec 13 Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) announced the holding of an all-Pakistan tournament in memory of Brig Manzoor Hussain Atif while also naming one of their 11 academies after him.

This was announced by PHF Secretary Asif Bajwa during a memorial ceremony held here at the National Hockey Stadium on Saturday.

While paying rich tributes to the country's hockey legend, who had only recently joined the federation as adviser, Bajwa said that the PHF would continue to follow in his footsteps for the progress and development of the game in the country.

Meanwhile, calling the loss a major setback for world hockey, PHF President Qasim Zia said that Brig Atif's work for the game will be remembered for a long time to come.

“We have lost a person who has served the game with a cause. He carried an experience of a lifetime which cannot be matched,” said the PHF president.
