LARKANA, April 26: The Chandka Medical College principal has refused to lodge an FIR against Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz chief Bashir Qureshi and some college students after being asked to do so by the department of health, Sindh.
It was learnt here on good authority that the principal received a letter from the health department on April 23.
The letter reads: “The competent authority has taken serious notice of the objectionable speeches delivered by the student leaders in the CMC, Larkana. The principal is asked to lodge an FIR against Bashir Qureshi, Athar Soomro, Munsif Bijarani, Zubair Soomro, Zulfikar Mangi, Shahnawaz Ujjan and Mahtab Phul for creating law and order situation, singing the Sindhu Desh anthem and pledging to create Sindhu Desh by disintegrating Pakistan.”
The department sought a reply in three days.
When contacted, the principal of the CMC, Professor Noor Ahmed Channa, said that neither he nor any member of the academic council had attended the function.
He asked why he should lodge the FIR as he had no evidence about the matter. Instead, he proposed, the state should lodge the FIR.
