KARACHI, Nov 11 Division One leaders Wapda trounced Multan by 10 wickets to record their second straight two-day victory in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship on Thursday.

Wapda, who defeated Islamabad by exactly the same margin last week, dismissed Multan for 104 in the second innings of their match at the Bahawalpur Stadium after having earned a first-innings lead of 86 runs.

Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik struck a maiden double-century to help PIA declare at 438-8 against Faisalabad at the Iqbal Stadium. The 28-year-old right-hander scored 200 - his ninth three-figure knock in 96 first-class matches - off 313 balls with 21 fours and one six.

Shoaib Khan made 71 as he and Malik added 238 for the fifth wicket. The hosts were 79-3 with paceman Aizaz Cheema taking all the wickets thus far.

Reigning champions Karachi Blues failed to cash in on a fine opening partnership of 129 between Naved Khan (62) and skipper Rameez Raja (69) as they reached 231-5 in reply to National Bank's 349 at the National Stadium.

State Bank gained a small lead of 21 runs after making 208 in response to Karachi Whites' 187 in the Division Two fixture at the NBP Sports Complex. The regional side closed at 33-2 in the second innings.
