QUETTA, April 25: Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti has said opposition parties’ meeting with the prime minister after president’s statement on the LFO and uniform was a futile exercise.
He was speaking to a group of newsmen on telephone from Dera bugti on Friday to comment on President Musharraf’s stand on the Legal Framework Order (LFO) and uniform.
The veteran Baloch politician explained that as the president was reluctant to change mind on the LFO, therefore dialogues with the opposition parties were fruitless, which he said could not help resolve differences between the two sides.
In reply to a question about the performance of the government, the JWP leader stated that he was not satisfied as situation was moving from bad to worse.
Answering another question regarding the opposition parties’ protest in the house, Mr Bugti said it would not affect the government unless it was conducted publicly.
The JWP chief to a query said the Balochistan National Movement had not contacted him till then to discuss the proposal for an alliance of political groups in the province.
