Two policemen suspended

ISLAMABAD, April 24: Two cops were suspended while another one was demoted on charges of taking bride for allowing people to meet their kith and kin in the judicial lock up.

The senior superintendent of police (SSP), Islamabad, Shahid Nadeem Baloch, suspended ASI Mohammad Yunas and Muhrar Nawazul Haq while in charge of judicial lock up ASI Ghulam Mohiuddin was demoted.

ARREST WARRANT: A sessions judge, ordered the arrest of a sub-inspector of Bara Kahu police station for assaulting a man on Thursday.

SI Zafar Iqbal was summoned by the court time and again as witness in an assault case, but he failed to comply with the court order for the last four months.

Iqbal came to the court with an application for cancellation of the arrest warrant. The judge rejected the application and directed the Bara Kahu police station SHO to register a case against the sub inspector and present him with the accused on April 28.

POWER RESTORED: Islamabad Electric Supply Company has restored power supply to the offices of the district administration and judiciary after five days.

The district administration informed Iesco authorities that the finance ministry had agreed to provide extra funds to meet the outstanding utility bills.
