Mir Sports in quarterfinals

KARACHI, Dec 7: Mir Sports booked a berth in the quarter- finals of the A.O. Floodlight Trophy Ramazan cricket tournament after beating Aamir XI by 40 runs at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.

Mir Sports winning the toss and deciding to bat first hit up 127 for seven in their 20 allotted overs with Jawad Ali (34), Mir Rashid (23) and Shahid Dawood (20), among the runs. Off-spinner Mehmood Hamid had figures of two for 17.

Needing 128 runs for an outright victory, Aamir XI were skittled out for only 86 runs in 19.2 overs.

M. Masroor top scored for his side with 23 runs. Spinners Jawad Ali three for 20, Ali Mohammad two for 11 and Salman Fazal two for 14, shared the wickets for the winners.
