KARACHI, April 22: Sindh Population Welfare Minister Dr Saeeda Malik said that the goal of national progress can be achieved only through educating girl students.

“Without imparting education to women folk, none of the nations across the globe can achieve the target of carving out a name among the community of nations and ensure its progress in every field of life,” she said, while speaking at the 34th annual award distribution ceremony of the Okhai Memon Youth Service on Tuesday here.

Emphasizing the significance of education, specially for girls, she underscored the need for imparting quality education to the maximum number of girls, as educating a girl meant educating a whole family, and thus the whole society could become literate, she added.

She lauded the services rendered by the Memon community in the field of education, and termed it exemplary.

Later, the minister distributed awards and shields among the girl students who excelled in their respective fields.—PPI
