PESHAWAR, April 21: The All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (Apnec), NWFP chapter, has demanded a judicial inquiry into the kidnapping of a newsman in Kohat.
NWFP Apnec President Sharif Mohmand in a statement here on Monday condemned the kidnapping of Dawn correspondent Abdul Sami Paracha in Kohat and demanded that the government should provide security and protection to the journalist, who had reported on the misdeeds of a gang of kidnappers and drug-sellers.
Mr Paracha, Dawn’s correspondent in Kohat, was kidnapped by a group of people from his house on April 18. He was recovered by the police the same day.
