SWABI, March 1 Unidentified attackers shot a man and his wife dead, who had married four month ago without the consent of the girl's parents here on Sunday.

The incident occurred in Himlet village, about 25 kilometres from the district headquarters.

Police said that Abdul Karim had married a girl who belonged to the Batakara area of Swabi, but the girl's parents were not happy with the marriage.

After the marriage, the couple went to Karachi and stayed there for about two months. Later, members of a jirga settled the dispute between the two families and the couple returned home.

On Sunday, Karim and his wife were going to the house of their relatives when they were attacked. Both died on the spot.

After the incident, the bodies were brought to the Topi Police Station. FIR was not registered till the filing of this report.

CHILD KIDNAPPED A five-year-old boy whose father is in England was kidnapped by unidentified men from Baja village here on Sunday.

Police said that it was not clear that who were involved in the abduction of the boy, but some of the insiders said that he might be picked up for ransom.

The abducted boy was identified as Khalil Khan son of Jamil Khan. His family said that he went out from his home to play with other children, but when he did not return after a few hours they started searching for him.

They said that they later came to know that he was abducted and shifted to an undisclosed location by the kidnappers. They said that they had not received any call form the abductors for ransom as yet.
