KARACHI, April 20: Police have registered cases at different police stations against unknown persons for creating law and order problem in many educational institutions on Saturday.

A senior police official said that police, on complaints, had registered cases against unknown people for throwing stones, causing a law and order situation and inflicting injuries to students and others.

An FIR was registered by the North Nazimabad police station on the complaint that some unidentified youths kidnapped two buses from SITE and took them to the Jinnah Government College in North Nazimabad to attack some students.

“We are looking into the cases and will take action after thorough investigation against those involved,” a police official said.

Police picked up more than 70 students from different educational institutions following clashes between two student groups on Saturday. Police said most of them were released after questioning.

Several students suffered injuries during the clashes at many educational institutions between the APMSO and the IJT.

A senior police official claimed that following efforts by high police officials, representative of the two groups held meetings and resolved their differences.

“We hope the educational activities will begin as normal from Monday. However, we will beef up security at all the educational institutions,” he added.
