Vice-chief of naval staff

KARACHI, Oct 30 President Asif Ali Zardari has appointed Vice-Admiral Asaf Humayun as Vice Chief of the Naval Staff with immediate effect.

According to an ISPR (Navy) release, Vice Admiral Humayun joined the Pakistan Navy in December 1970.

He is a recipient of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and has served as director of submarine operations at the naval headquarters in 1989. He has also served as Pakistan naval attaché in New Delhi (India) during 1992-95. He was promoted to the rank of commodore in July 1998. —Our Reporter
