FIH special coaching course

BRUSSELS, April 19: The next International Hockey Federation (FIH) Special International Coaching Course is to be held in Randburg, South Africa from July 16 to 23 , alongside the Men’s Champions Hockey Challenge event.

The course, run with the South Africa Hockey Association, features parallel high performance and development sessions. By running the two types of course in tandem, the participants will have the opportunity to learn from each other and expand their knowledge base.

In addition participants will qualify in the FIH certification and accreditation system. Lectures and practical coaching sessions, discussions, special presentations, contributions from participants and match analysis of the Champions Challenge Tournament all feature in this week-long course.

FIH Top Coaches, Frank Murray (Aus) and Tayyab Ikram (Pak) will conduct the course.

Frank is an FIH Master Coach, two-time silver medal winner and was the assistant coach of gold medallist Hockeyroos at the Sydney Olympics.

Tayyab, also the Course Director, is the FIH Coaching Manager and FIH Grade I Coach.

Paul Lissek (Ger) and Maurits Hendriks (Ned) will be present at the course. Paul is a world renowned coaching legend and FIH Master Coach whilst Maurits is an FIH Master Coach and was coach of gold medal winning Netherlands men’s team at Sydney Olympic Games. — PPI
