38 members of 10 gangs held

SIALKOT, April 19: The police claimed on Saturday to have arrested 38 members of 10 gangs of dacoits during the last 15 days.

This was stated by Sialkot district police officer (DPO) Amjad Javed Saleemi while speaking at a press conference in his office.

Mr Saleemi said the police also arrested 264 proclaimed offenders and 96 court absconders during the same period, besides recovering stolen goods worth Rs1 million, three Kalashnikovs, 11 rifles, 11 guns, 40 revolvers, 108 pistols of 30 bore, three carbines and 628 bullets, 15.767 kilograms of hashish, 71 grams heroin, 83 bottles of liquor from their possession.

He said the Kotli Loharan police also arrested Khalid Humayun from Bhalwal, Sargodha, who had killed six people of a family in Dhanni Chund village.
