MANSEHRA Torrential rains in Batgram and Mansehra district claimed lives of two women and four men on Wednesday.

Further, two river bridges were swept away closing down the Kaghan highway for traffic.

Two persons drowned in flood at Oogi and Ilai areas whereas two women drowned in Tanawal area. Later, bodies of both the women were found from a distance.

Rainwater also entered in Ilai hydro power project as one of its wall fell due to rain. Rest House of Ilai was also affected. There is flood in river Kunhar and river Sarn as well.

Karakoram highway has been closed at Kohistan and Dir areas due to land sliding and Gilgit-Baltistan has lost communication with other parts of country.

Ilai Thakot road has been blocked by mudslides. Also the Kaghan highway has been closed temporarily due to land sliding at Kaghan and Qwai areas. Hundreds of tourists and peoples were trapped in the area. — DawnNews
