KARACHI, Jan 29 There was a walkover galore in the Karachi Board Inter-collegiate girls badminton championship which got underway at the Karachi College for Women on Monday.

In the only match played on Tuesday, Government Khatoon-e-Pakistan College notched up a 2-0 victory over St Lawrence College for Women.

The remaining two matches of the day resulted in walkovers. Government College, North Nazimabad Block K, earned a walkover against PECHS College while College of Emergent Technology moved up registering a walkover against Khurshid Girls College.

Earlier, Government Women College Landhi-Korangi got the first walkover against Dewa College when the latter failed to turn up. Three more matches on the card on the opening day could not take place as the teams failed to show up and were scratched.

Some 39 teams from local colleges have entered in the competition. DHA College are the defending champions.

Wednesday's fixtures

DHA College v Government Women College Landhi-Korangi; Bahria College Karsaz v Al Noor College.
