ISLAMABAD April 18: Federal Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Friday reiterated that the Legal Framework Order was part of the Constitution and the government had no intention of taking it to parliament for debate.

Talking to newsmen in the lobby after a brief noisy session of the National Assembly, the minister said the masses were hoping their representatives would rid them of poverty, unemployment and injustice, and were not concerned about the president’s uniform or constitutional lacunas.

He advised the opposition to put aside the issue of “military uniform”, and refrain from adding to the confusion.

Replying to a question he said the government’s team wanted to end the political impasse through negotiations, but some opposition parties were creating hurdles in the way of an amicable settlement of the issues.
