RAWALPINDI, April 17: A milkman drowned in a Nullah in Sihala on Thursday, police said.

The milkman, who is yet to be identified, was crossing the Nullah when he was swept away into deep water, police quoted witnesses as saying. Efforts by the police to fish out the body were given up after sunset.

The investigation officer told Dawn that the navy divers and the ATC squad were requested to help the police, but the former replied that they would be available on Friday while the latter said they were on VVIP duty.

CARS STOLEN: Two cars were lifted from Rawalpindi, police said on Thursday.

Hassan Raza Saleemi’s car (LXB-3713) was stolen from Satellite Town while a naval officer Farman Hassan Khokhar’s car (ACV-023) was stolen from Lalkurti.
