PESHAWAR, April 16: UNICEF’s polio ambassador and famous singer Jawad Ahmad visited some educational institutions and slum areas here on Wednesday to create awareness on polio eradication campaign.

In the vicinity of Tajabad, Jawad Ahmad administered polio drops to children and advised the volunteers to make all out efforts for effective immunization against polio so that all the children below the age of five years could be given polio drops.

Jawad Ahmad also visited the FG School for Girls and all the campuses of the Beacon House Schools.

He urged the students to participate in the campaign against the crippling disease. He said that although a well organized programme is being implemented by the government, in collaboration with UN agencies and NGOs to root out polio, however, the disease is still posing a threat to the children.
